How the military are allowed to spend tax payers money developing super killing machines is a testament to how backwards our civilization truly is. And as long as there are fanatical religious nutjobs that run fanatical countries, who have a clear mandate to destroy our western way of life and establish religious rule, who also have access to nuclear weapons, this is the reason...to provide a reliable platform for a first-strike capability. Here is an idea: take a daffodil and go line up in front of an invading force after you have abolished our military and find out how long it takes for the daffodils to get shoved up your arses. I am also disappointed that the English didn't make an aggressive play for the American colonies after the end of Napolean. At that time they had the military strength and the naval might to wipe your American noses with your own used toilet paper. You would all be just a part of Canada now.
